I wanted to post a quick update on the results of the 2009 Wish Calendar and the donation recently made to Hope Alive!

We ended up donating $2010 to Hope Alive this past week. This is the first donation made to them from the project. There are still calendars available and a few left at various retailers in and around Frederick so you still have an opportunity to pick one up and donate to Hope Alive.

It was a great community effort! People and businesses were very generous, not just participating in the calendar production, but in helping to sell them and donating their time to make it a success, just for their love of children! I was amazed by the generosity of people who purchased calendars for 3 or 4 times the asking price because they wanted to help out with the cause, especially in these hard economic times.

I was so excited to be able to present a check to Hope Alive, I know this funds are going to a wonderful organization that will use it to better woman and children in our own community. I'm excited over the possibilities for the next years' project since this one has been such a success.

So yesterday Santa came early to our house. I've been anxiously awaiting these gorgeous items for quite a long time. So can you guess what it was??

If you said the calendars you would be right!! I'm so happy they're finally here, about 2.5 weeks behind schedule but they are finally here!!! They are just beautiful! I can't wait to see how much we can raise for Hope Alive! Calendars can be purchased by clicking the buy it now buttons below. If you choose to have your items shipped they will be shipped using priority mail, I will put as many as I can into the envelope. The cost for shipping is $5.00. If you choose the I'll pick mine up button you can pick them up from me, you can pick them up at my home anytime just shoot me an email and I'll send you directions. I will also be doing a meet up day at Starbucks out on RT 40 in Frederick. So come by and I'll buy you a cup of coffee and pick up your copy of the calendar!

It's time! time to vote for your favorite image to appear inthe 2009 Wish Calendar benefiting Hope Alive!

Pick the top three images that you would like to see appear in the Wish Calendar. To have your vote count enter your email address in the other box. that will also enter your name in the drawing for the voter who will win a free session simply enter your email address in the other box. One vote per day per email address. Remember the image with the most votes will win a canvas from their session or the creative fee towards a session winners choice!

Yep that's right the time has come to meet our finalists for the calendar! I have a few friends and acquaintances who are going to help me out with the process of narrowing down all the images.

Here is how this part of the process will work

Everyone who came out to have a calendar session done will get my top two picks by email(watermarked) Monday by 11:00pm. You chose your own finalist. You must let me know by 9:00pm Tuesday or I will make the decision for you.

Wednesday at 1:00pm the polls will open. I am still trying to find the polling format that I'm looking for but my hope is to have one vote per email address per day and the results to remain hidden until the polls close.

To make voting a little more fun there will be two prizes. One for the image with the most votes and one for a voter chosen by drawing after the polling closes. Voters could win a free session and the image with the most votes will receive a gallery wrapped canvas or session fee their choice a value of $125.

Polls will remain open until October 15th at 1:00pm winners will be announced on October 16th by 9:00pm.

Calendar Update

It's almost time to vote! Wednesday is the last day for calendar sessions! Whew only 4 more sessions left! I made it! Now just to get them ALL edited. lol

The 'hope' is to have all of them edited and the finalist from each session picked by the 24th of September, and then voting will begin. The poll will remain open Until October 15th. Pre~sale of the calendars will start on October 22nd and to have all the sponsor money in and calendars in hand last wednesday of October!

If you don't already be sure to check the ECP { blog }often to see what I've been up to! I am so excited to see all the hard work coming turning into this beautiful calendar! I can't wait to have them in hand ready to sell for Hope Alive!!

Just a quick update friends!

First I want to take a minute to thank all of you who have drummed up sponsors or have sponsored your self! It's wonderful! I appreciate the time and effort that takes! You will of course be rewarded for your efforts!! If you have gathered sponsors, you will earn 15% for the first one and 10% off each additional sponsor up to 55% off your total order!! Your discount is good only in 2008 you can use it towards future sessions or any products from the session you did for the calendar.

Secondly I have a few sessions open for the calendar. If you are just receiving this notice for the first time no worries, I am reaching out to all of my friends and family not only the original applicants, so I can try to fill all my time slots. If you are not familiar. A calendar mini session will last about 45 mins, the cost is $50 for the first child and $25 for siblings. The money goes directly to Hope Alive to offset the cost of printing the 2009 Wish Calendar. If you can do one of the following slots please just let me know as soon as possible. I'll send you all the info you need for your session.

Calendar Update

Just a quick update on where we stand with the Wish Calendar .

I have about 1/3 of the sessions shot for the Wish Calendar and about 1/2 of those edited. I am going to catch up this week and part of next. So if you had your session but still haven't received your password to view your slide show they should be up by next Wednesday. (I hope!)

If you have not had your photos done yet for the session, or you are interested in donating to a good cause while getting some great photos of your kids done. I am going to be doing marathon sessions in the upcoming weeks. Your tax deductible donation ($50 per child $25 for siblings) directly to Hope Alive is due the day of your session. The purpose of the session is to obtain images to be voted on by the community to appear in the Wish Calendar your donation will cover the full session fee, it does not include any prints. While you are not expected to purchase any other merchandise you are welcome to do so.

Sessions times available are 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00pm 4:00pm, 5:00pm Sessions slots are first come first serve.Please let me know ASAP what day and time will work for you and your family. I will try to get everyone who has yet to have their session shot in during these times. If none of these dates work for you I may have a weekend date available depending on my workload for September.

If you can help in anyway, making calls, sending emails, talking to your employers or businesses you frequent, please let me know. I will do everything I can to make it easier for you. We have quite a long way to go before we hit the amount needed to print this years calendars but it's very exciting to see everything falling into place!

If you are interested in being a sponsor here's what you need to know. :)

Friend and family sponsors who make a tax deductible minimum donation of $50 to $150 ~ your name or website will appear on the 'Thank you' pages, as well as on the Community Wish Project website.

Monthly sponsors space is a tax deductible donation of $175, or you may choose to sponsor the entire month (2 spaces) for a tax deductible donation of $350 per month. The advertising space is 1.5x3 inch each. You may select the month you sponsor, first come, first serve. Sponsor messages will be designed to compliment the simplistic, upscale nature of the calendar you are welcome to submit your own ad or I can design it for you. As a monthly sponsor, your business/name will be listed on the back cover, on the 'Thank you' page inside of the calendar, as well as on the Community Wish Project website. This is along with your sponsor message will be seen by the families and businesses in your neighborhood!

Just a quick update for anyone who has emailed me interested in a session or
pertaining to the calendar. Late in June we found out we were expecting, and
have since experienced a miscarriage. Please bear with me while I try to get
things back in order.

For those of you interested in a full session with Eyes of a Child Photography I
am not doing any more sessions until after August 19th the only exceptions is
newborns who have already paid their deposits I know this time is fleeting and
you can not get it back. All sessions that have been shot to date should have
your slide show up already if you haven't gotten your password please let me
know asap so I can get it to you. As for Maternity sessions if you have already
paid your deposit and have a date set for your maternity session I will do my
best to get it done for you. Otherwise I will be sending a refund and a
recommendation for another photographer friend who has graciously offered to
help me out, her rates are the same and she will work with your schedule. Any other sessions that were scheduled can be rescheduled with me for a
later date.

For the Wish Calendar ~ I will get all of the calendar sessions in before mid
September I promise your kiddos will get a chance to appear in the calendar. I
will begin working again the Tuesday the 19th of August. With a plan in place to
get all of the sessions edited posted and shot before the 15th of September! If
you session has already been done but you are waiting on your slide show bear
with me I will have them up before the 19th, If you have sponsor checks or
someone interested in being a sponsor please forward their info to me and I will
try to get to them in the coming week if they can not wait have them write
sponsor checks directly to Hope Alive NOT Eyes of a Child Photography! They can
be mailed to 3915 Highland Ave Myersville MD 21773. Sorry to anyone who has
tried to contact me about sponsorships or having their sessions shot getting
their slide shows up. I know there were a few of you I did not get in contact with until it was too late for your session. I will resch
edule and speak with you all individually.

I'm excited to say we've made it to the half way point!!!

We have raised a little over halfway in promised donations between models being photographed and sponsors for the calendar.

I still have a lot of collecting to do lots of sessions to schedule and we have quite a long way to go before we hit the amount needed to print this years calendars but it's very exciting to see everything falling into place!

The 2009 Community Wish Calendar beneficiary is Hope Alive. I am very excited to start working with this great organization!

A little more about Hope Alive.

'Founded in 2002, Hope Alive, Inc. is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian ministry serving homeless women and children in Frederick County, Maryland.

Located on 13 acres in rural Sabillasville, Hope Alive can accommodate up to 25 individuals in our beautiful three-story home, which includes 12 furnished bedrooms. Because a safe and stable home is only one step in breaking the cycle of homelessness, Hope Alive offers a four-phase program and comprehensive support services to address the issues at the root of each family’s homelessness. The Joshua Center serves as our on-site adult and child development center.

Hope Alive’s resident families can stay for up to two years while learning new skills and working toward self-sufficiency. We welcome your prayers for our families and your support of this ministry. Together, we can work toward the day when every woman and child in our community has not only a home but also hope for the future.'

The Community Wish Project is a Charitable initiative by Christine Lillard of Eyes of a Child Photography .

Mission: The Community Wish Project is to raise awareness and funds for local charitable foundations, that the community chooses. Charities chosen will benefit babies, children, and families in our own community.
